Chamber Music

ALL BYSO members are eligible to participate in Chamber Music.

We are working on developing a chamber program for the 2020-21 season that will be musically engaging and challenging for our students and will take advantage of the technology made available through BYSO. Students will continue to benefit from the personalized attention and small-group coachings inherent to chamber music as well as the opportunity to collaborate more closely with other members of their orchestra.

WHAT IS CHAMBER MUSIC? Chamber groups are small ensembles generally made up of 2 to 6 players.  Each group will be comprised of musicians from within the same BYSO orchestra and will be assigned a member of our professional coaching staff who will work with the group each week to prepare repertoire for an end-of-the-year performance.  Throughout the year there will also be performance classes, master classes and outside performance opportunities.

WHEN? Chamber Music will meet on Sundays at the following times:

BYS Groups 12:30-1:30pm

REP Groups 12:15-1:00pm

JRO Groups 1:30-2:15pm

PW Groups 12:15-1:00pm

YPSO Groups 11:15-12:00pm

PE Groups 3:00-3:45pm

WHY SHOULD I JOIN? Chamber music is an invaluable part of one’s musical training. There is no better way to refine both your ensemble skills and your solo playing skills at the same time.  Under the guidance of a skilled professional coach, each student will increase their level of playing confidence while learning to listen to, blend with, and make musical decisions with the other members of their group.
