BYSO AUDITIONS FOR THE 2021-2022 SEASON
Thank you for your interest in the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras!
As we look to next season, we are hopeful that the later part of 2021 will bring some normalcy to our lives. Though no one can predict the future with precision, we have been giving considerable thought to the next season. Provided we continue to move forward on a path as it is currently forecasted, at this point, our plan is to prepare for an in-person season. This plan includes our annual camp in August at New England Music Camp. We are hopeful that the current news of COVID-19 vaccinations paired with herd immunity will allow organizations such as BYSO to operate in-person. We will continue to abide by the recommendations of medical professionals, State, and local government authorities and adjust our schedule accordingly.
Our spring audition information and application are now available. All auditions for the 2021-22 season will be online via video submission. For the upcoming season, BYSO will not hold preliminary auditions for string players. All applicants (both new and returning) will need to submit the application and application fee.
We understand that this may be a challenging time as many students return to in-person school activities. BYSO would like to offer you additional time to submit your application and video by extending the deadline to Tuesday, May 18th at 11:59pm.
For Flute and Clarinet candidates that are completing the separate supplemental excerpt video in order to be considered for BYS, this video must still be uploaded by Sunday, May 16th at 11:59pm.
Please do not hesitate to contact our office at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.

We hope you will enjoy this presentation of Britten’s A Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra. We are so excited to share this project that celebrates community, resilience, music-making, and education. This work celebrates our young musicians’ hard work and dedication during these unusual circumstances.
