Junior Repertory Orchestra
The Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras' (BYSO) Junior Repertory Orchestra (JRO) has grown steadily from a small string orchestra to a full symphonic ensemble made up of over 90 members. Members receive group and individual coaching, which enables them to build solid, fundamental technical and musical skills. John Holland, began conducting Junior Repertory Orchestra at the start of the 2012-2013 season. JRO performs four times during the year at several venues throughout the Boston area, including Boston University's Tsai Performance Center, Sanders Theatre at Harvard University and Symphony Hall.
All JRO members start the season at the BYSO Summer Camp, which takes place at New England Music Camp (NEMC) in Sidney, Maine. Here members spend a week learning new music, making new friends and enjoying NEMC's beautiful campus. Additionally during the year, all JRO members partake in Rythmn Class as part of their experience at BYSO.
