Competitions & Special Opportunities
Project Overture - Led by BYS Student Henry Goldstein
Through Project Overture, high school musicians volunteer to teach weekly music lessons to children at Housing Families, an afterschool program for primarily unhoused children in Malden, MA. If you are interested in volunteering, please find more information here.
Fidelity Young Artist Competition: Boston Pops
High School instrumentalists and vocalists are invited to participate in the Fidelity Investments Young Artists Competition at the Boston Pops. This competition is open to ALL genres and styles of music and to soloists and ensembles (up to five members). Winners receive a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform with the Boston Pops as part of their Spring Pops concert on June 3, 2026. This concert, scheduled to be conducted by maestro Keith Lockhart will also feature a special guest artist. Finalists will be invited to audition live at Symphony Hall.
