The Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras' (BYSO) 51st season has come to an end, and now we are eager to begin our 52nd year for the 2009-2010 season. Stay tuned for more information!Since 1958, the BYSO has served thousands of young musicians from throughout New England. Over the past 51 years, the BYSO has evolved from a single orchestra to one of Boston’s most prestigious arts organizations, with a programmatic scope that includes three full symphonic orchestras, a string training orchestra, a preparatory wind ensemble, four chamber orchestras, a chamber music program, and a nationally recognized string training program for underrepresented youth from inner-city communities. The organization celebrated its 50th anniversary with a sold-out Symphony Hall gala concert featuring Yo-Yo Ma in May 2008.
