Boston University
The Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras (BYSO) has been in residence at Boston University’s College of Fine Arts since its establishment in 1958 by Dr. Robert Choate. Since its inception, Boston University’s College of Fine Arts has been a major sponsor of BYSO. BYSO students rehearse in full orchestras, smaller ensembles and in individualized coaching sessions on Sundays at the College of Fine Arts. Some members of the music community at the College also serve as coaches.Boston University also provides the use of many musical instruments as well as rehearsal and office space at no charge to BYSO. The Dean of the College of Fine Arts, and the Director of the Music Division serve as ex officio members on BYSO Board of Directors.This close and important relationship between Boston University and BYSO has enabled the BYSO to provide talented young musicians with significant opportunities for personal and artistic growth. BYSO is grateful to Boston University for their continued support.

BYSO/BSO:Partnering for the Future

bsologo_hires In 2012 Boston Symphony Orchestra and BYSO formed an important new partnership for classical music in Boston; BYSO/BSO: Partnering for the Future. This collaboration is designed to develop training programs and to offer joint performance opportunities for young musicians, audiences, and the wider community, while exploring innovative ways to continue to foster the future of classical music. Brimmer and May School 
Brimmer and May School generously provides our students and faculty use of the facilities in the building on a daily basis for private and group lessons which hold a central role in our students’ musical development.

Noble and Greenough School 
Noble and Greenough School has partnered with BYSO for years providing space for ICP during its summer music camps.

Boston Public Schools- Dennis C. Haley Pilot School
BYSO partners with the Dennis C. Haley Pilot School in Roslindale to promote a strong music education pathway for students in the Boston Public Schools by offering weekly, full-inclusion string instrument lessons to over 100 kindergarten, first grade, and second grade students each year.

Boston Latin School 
Boston Latin School generously provides our students and faculty use of the facilities in the building on a daily basis for private and group lessons which hold a central role in our students’ musical development.

Museum of African American History
Each year BYSO, the Museum of African American History and the City of Boston collaborate to present the a tribute performance to Martin Luther King, Jr.

Each year BYSO, the Museum of African American History and the City of Boston collaborate to present the a tribute performance to Martin Luther King, Jr.

Boston Children’s Museum
BYSO and Boston Children’s Museum began presenting concerts for young children at the Museum in 2014. This successful series of concerts has brought thousands of young listeners to experience BYSO’s young musicians and classical music in the enriching environment provided by the museum.

Boston Public Library
BYSO is delighted to be a part of Boston Public Library’s Summer Concerts in the Courtyard Series.
