Endowment Fund
Make a Gift to Ensure BYSO's Future
Endowment Fund donors are current parents, alumni, alumni parents, Board members, former Board members, and friends who have made a gift to ensure the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras (BYSO) can continue to serve future generations of young musicians.
The endowment fund guarantees the BYSO's future artistic excellence and addresses the needs of underrepresented youth. The endowment, valued at nearly $1M, should be double its current sized to adequately support the organization. It is a priority of the BYSO to seek endowment gifts that will secure its future.
As we celebrate our 50th Anniversary, the BYSO's future plans are to continue to:
- demonstrate the highest standards of artistic excellence
- further develop in size and scope
- expand the amount of financial aid available to musicians in need
The BYSO's endowment needs are four-fold, described below:
Fund for Artistic Excellence – This fund will enable BYSO to provide competitive compensation for the Music Director, professional coaching staff and guest artists, allowing BYSO to build a highly talented and committed artistic faculty.
Intensive Community Program Fund – This fund will subsidize the Intensive Community Program's (ICP) high quality weekly music lessons, ensemble classes, instrument rental and BYSO tuition fees to children underrepresented in the musical community by providing the music education that many urban public schools have been forced to abandon.
Performance and Tour Fund – This fund will provide access to the most prestigious professional national and international performance venues, including Boston's Symphony Hall.
Financial Aid Fund – This fund will help subsidize tuition costs for the academic season, national and international tours, and summer camp for families in financial need, ensuring that all qualified children have access to BYSO's outstanding programs.
