I am currently a first-year student at Wellesley College. I'm still studying and am participating in the Chamber Music Society at Wellesley. In December 2002 I won the Wellesley-Brandeis Orchestra Concerto Competition with the Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2 1st.  Later this spring, I will also be playing Stravinsky's Firebird with the orchestra too. No matter what other orchestras I get the chance to play with, however, GBYSO will always hold a special place!

After graduating from Wellesley in 2007 with a double major in Economics and Sociology, I moved to New York to work as a research associate for the League of American Orchestras.  I currently work as an analyst for the New York Times.  In the Fall of 2009, I plan to begin studying for  Masters in Columbia's Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences.  Juggling work and school is going to be challenging but I hope to find time to take up music again.  It's been a long time since I've picked up my instrument (the callouses and violin hickey are long gone) and it's hard not to get wistful when I hear Francesca da Ramini or Shostakovich 5.

I played cello in GBYSO from 1996 until 2002, when I graduated. I am a freshman at Harvard now, and I play in a piano trio here. I'm probably doing a double major in Sociology and Visual Studies, focusing on non-fiction film. I miss GBYSO a lot; Sundays aren't the same without it - I have great memories of performing in a string quartet my senior year, an experience I'm sure I'll never quite duplicate.
