The class will provide the student with an efficient understanding of the tonal and contemporary techniques in composition. The program of study will focus on the theory which is at the base of western music culture, together with the application of it through compositional techniques.  The students will be engaged in musical analysis based on the BYSO orchestral repertoire as well as more contemporary musical languages. The participants acquired knowledge will be devoted to the composition of original pieces. Possible performances of such works will be scheduled upon availability of performers.
