Now in my twenty-first season as Director of Orchestras at Ball State University and Music Director of the Muncie Symphony Orchestra. I'll give master classes in conducting at the Royal Academy of Music in London this March, my conducting textbook has just been published in Taiwan, and I conduct Amahl and the Night Visitors in Japan in November. For the past 15 years, I have been bass trombonist with the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington D.C.. Prior to that, I was with the San Francisco Opera Orchestra for 2 years. I earned my bachelor and masters degrees from New England Conservatory.. I am very active as a teacher, soloist and clinician. Outside of music, I am married with two children. I am a homeschooling mother of four, living in Gainesville, GA. I continue to play violin and saxophone and sing at church, with my husband of eighteen years. My two oldest are learning clarinet and trumpet, respectively--and my youngest wants to learn the violin and flute! All are learning guitar, piano, and a little bit of drums on the side.
